Dixie's Case
The most dramatic anecdotal evidence came from a case
involving a one year old black Labrador Retriever named Dixie. Dixie was experiencing
severe pain and limited mobility and the subsequent x-ray diagnosis
was severe hip dysplasia with sub-luxation of the left hip. Conventional treatment to
control the pain was of limited benefit and euthanasia was suggested.
In desperation the owner placed Dixie on AMAIZE and in three weeks Dixie was much improved and
the pain medication was discontinued. In three months Dixie's mobility was greatly
improved, and by one year she was pain free and appeared clinically normal except that she
did not jump as much as she did prior to developing the condition.
A follow up x-ray taken after one
year of daily AMAIZE
supplementation was quite remarkable. The expected degeneration of both hips with
accompanying arthritic changes had not occurred - a very unexpected result. The right hip was much improved, the head of the femur had grown significantly,
as had the acetabulum.(hip socket) The articular surfaces of the joint were in normal
apposition and free of any arthritic changes. The joint had remodeled and appeared to
regenerating. The left hip showed improvement but appeared to be
still misaligned. A ruptured round ligament at the time of the original sub-luxation of
this hip that had not healed, was thought to be the reason for the continued misalignment.
Dixie's x-rays do not prove
scientifically that Amaize was responsible for her improvement. But the comprehensive
anecdotal evidence accumulated with the AMAIZE formulation does suggest that nutrition may play an important roll in the
progression of arthritic disease. This evidence so encouraged us, that we decided to
develop a nutritional formulation with the known nutritional substances necessary to build
and maintain healthy joints - AMAIZE AHD.
